The Official Hotel of the National Meteorological Congress and METEO EXPO 2009 Exhibition is the
“Moscow Gates” Congress Centre and Hotel 
It is conveniently located on one of the city’s main streets – Moskovsky Prospect, half way between the airport and the city historic centre.
The hotel is interconnected with the congress facilities, which hosts both the Congress and the Exhibition.
The organizers provide discounted special rates for the METEO EXPO 2009 participants and guests.

Booking/reservation confirmation and invitation letter for the Russian visa (if required) will be sent to you directly by the hotel. The hotel may request additional form for visa invitation letter.
Other hotels (in the city centre, near the airport and at any other locations) are available at discounted price by special request. Please, send your request to e-mail: hotels@imd.ru and indicate name of the preferred hotel or preferred city area.
Visa Information
Visa is required to travel to Russia. To apply for visa in Russian consular office in your country, you need to obtain invitation letter from either your hotel (for tourist visa), or Meteo Expo (for business visa).
Tourist Visa
Invitation letter may be issued by the hotel. Please, see Hotel Booking Form for more details. The hotel issues invitation letter for TOURIST visa. Tourist visa is generally less expensive and takes less time to get issued.
ATTENTION: Please, take note, that in your visa application the purpose of the trip should be stated as “tourism”. This is single entry visa.
Business Visa
It does make sense to apply for business visa, only if you plan to come to Russia more than once in the course of the year. It takes more than one month to get business visa issued and it is significantly more expensive. Invitation letter is issued by Meteo Expo or Roshydromet. This is multiple entry visa.
ATTENTION: if you decide to apply for business visa, please, be advised, that we recommend that you contact us in the range of 3 to 2 months prior to the departure to secure your business visa.
